My name is Alain Zakeossian. I’m a Rolfer certified from the European Rolfing Association in Munich and The Dr. Ida Rolf Institute in the United States.
I practice Rolfing in London with locations in Mayfair and Chiswick.
I specialise in postural alignment, structural integration, fascia release, injury prevention and chronic tensions. Through Rolfing I promote comfortable posture and ease of movement.
The basis of my work is that the body needs to lengthen and be balanced. Because a balanced body gives rise to a better experience and quality of life.
I studied with Hubert Godard and Mary Bond, two contemporary and classical dancers and Rolfers. They are both pioneers in movement education.
In addition, I’m also a certified teacher of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, a dynamic form of yoga which requires precise alignment. I trained extensively with John Scott and Ty Landrum in Colorado. I focus my teaching and own practice on safe comfortable alignment and fluidity of movement.
My Rolfing and Yoga practices find their common focus in a passion for the study of movement in all aspects. These include biomechanics, techniques, perceptions and psychology, all the way to the aesthetic of human expression.
In my experience people who understand and respect their body tend to be more resilient. As a result they respond better to the stresses of life.
My objective as a Rolfer and teacher is to help people become more attuned to their body. Above all, I would like more people to enjoy the benefits of better posture and discover their full potential.
I’m a calm and considerate therapist. I believe that I possess the knowledge, sensitivity and skills necessary to respond to the needs of each individual.
